MRO Property Services successfully delivered the St John Ambulance Australia Centre at Secret Harbour, a state-of-the-art facility designed to support paramedics and the local community. The centre features a reception, 12-bay ambulance garage, paramedic rest rooms, ablutions, kitchen and living areas, offices, a pool deck, service yard, and car park.
The project combined innovative construction techniques with high-quality materials. Cast in situ footings and slabs, tilt-up concrete panels, structural steel, and custom orb roof sheeting formed the structural backbone of the facility, while external CFC cladding and internal blockwork walls with plaster provided durability and functionality. Acoustic tile ceilings and gyprock fire-check compartments ensured the building met strict safety and operational requirements.
For seamless access, sensor-activated automatic roller doors were installed, and external textured finishes on the panels, along with carefully painted interiors, created a welcoming and resilient environment. Full-height wall tiles in the amenities and carpets throughout the offices and living areas enhanced comfort for staff and visitors alike.
Despite the late arrival of essential reticulated services, MRO Property Services completed the project within 28 weeks. Temporary propping was used to support intricate wall panels, and upgraded materials were applied to withstand the coastal environment, ensuring a long-lasting, high-quality result.
