Murdoch University Chemical Laboratory

Location Murdoch University, 90 South Street, Murdoch, WA
Client Murdoch University
Date Completed 2014

MRO Property Services delivered the fit-out of a new Chemical Laboratory within an existing building at Murdoch University, previously used as a piggery.

Before construction could begin, extensive make-good works were required to restore the building shell following the demolition of all interior walls, ceilings, and fixtures.

The project involved the installation of complex services, including specialised gases, compressed air and vacuum systems, exhaust arms, and fume cupboards. Careful coordination of trades and constant liaison between all parties on site was essential to ensure smooth progress and adherence to the program.

Maintaining open communication with the client and consultants throughout all stages—particularly in the early phases—ensured the laboratory met all functional requirements and was compatible with planned equipment. Any unforeseen issues were promptly addressed by MRO Property Services, the client, consultants, and contractors, leading to a successful project completion.
