The Gemini Medical Centre was designed to provide a modern, comfortable, and fully functional environment for both patients and staff. The facility features a reception with waiting area and ablutions, fifteen consultants’ and pathology rooms, two operating theatres, a nurses’ station with ward area, three OHS rooms, and additional staff facilities. A courtyard with feature columns and a customer and staff car park completes the external layout.

Construction combined in situ footings and concrete floors with tilt-up wall panels, structural steel roof framing, and custom orb roof cladding. An architecturally designed roof structure, full-height glazing walls, and hi-lite windows create a bright and airy interior, while acoustic gyprock walls and ceilings provide essential soundproofing. Aluminium sunscreens, perforated feature gyprock ceilings, and textured patterned exterior finishes add style and functionality.

A custom-made feature reception bench, vinyl flooring, and carpet throughout the building enhance both comfort and practicality. The centre’s location next to a busy shopping area required careful traffic management and precise coordination of medical facility installations.

Completed in just 34 weeks, the Gemini Medical Centre earned recognition at the Master Builders Awards 2007, winning Best Building under $10 million.
