State Swim – Secret Harbour
| Location | Secret Harbour |
| Client | State Swim |
| Date | 2008 |
The Stateswim Aquatic Facility at Secret Harbour features a pool deck, changing and ablution areas, reception, offices, viewing areas, plant and first aid rooms, a service yard, and a car park.
Construction included the pool shell, cast in situ footings and slabs, tilt-up concrete panels, structural steel erection, custom orb roof sheeting, external CFC cladding, acoustic tile ceilings, and full-height glazed walls. External surfaces received a textured coat finish, while internal walls were painted. Amenities were fitted with full-height tiles, the pool concourse was finished with banded tiles, and the pool itself featured coloured lane markers.
The building was carefully constructed around the pool shell, with upgraded materials and finishes to withstand the chlorine environment and the facility’s proximity to the ocean, ensuring long-lasting quality. Despite delays caused by the late provision of essential reticulated services, MRO Property Services completed the project within 36 weeks. The facility was later nominated for the 2008 Master Builders Awards.
