MRO Property Services delivered the fitout of a new Nursing Simulation Suite within an existing campus building, including the installation of in-ground chilled water lines to serve multiple buildings. Initial works involved a full strip-out of ceilings, walls, and all electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic fixtures, followed by extensive make-good works to the building shell.
Fitout works progressed with the installation of essential services, including compressed air and vacuum systems, chilled water, gas heating, hot water ring mains, DALI LED lighting, security and access control, power, and data. The confined ceiling spaces and complex service requirements demanded close coordination between trades, consultants, and the client to ensure optimal performance for end users. Partition walls and ceilings were constructed to form teaching spaces, offices, labs, WC facilities, storage areas, and simulation wards.
Internal finishes included joinery, aluminium partitions, glazing, painting, fixtures, floor coverings, furniture, and service fit-off. Concurrently, 200 metres of in-ground chilled water piping were installed, requiring excavation of a bitumen driveway and pedestrian walkway. A temporary bridge ensured uninterrupted access for staff and students during construction.
The final phase focused on strict site management to maintain biological control and medical-grade health standards. Effective planning and continuous communication between MRO Property Services, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders ensured the project was completed on time and to a high standard.
