Modernisation of the Senate and Conference Rooms at Murdoch University’s South Street campus transformed these spaces into fully upgraded, functional environments. The works included demolition, new partitioning, and comprehensive upgrades to mechanical, fire, electrical, data/communications, hydraulics, and security systems. Custom cabinetry, joinery, floor and wall coverings, window treatments, and new signage were also incorporated to achieve a contemporary finish.
Delivering the project within a live university environment required strict adherence to Murdoch University’s OH&S policies. MRO Property Services integrated these requirements into the project’s safety management plan, ensuring all personnel on site were fully inducted and compliant.
A key challenge arose with the delayed delivery of selected light fittings. Temporary lighting solutions were installed to maintain workflow and meet the original handover date. Through proactive planning and close coordination with the client, the project was completed on schedule, maintaining the highest quality standards.
